Journal — overview

The journal is Scripvio’s space for personal day-to-day entries: reflections, prayer, meditation, what you are living spiritually. It complements notes (structured service or study, sections, PDF export) without replacing them.

This guide sets the foundation before detailed tutorials (create, mood, publish, Tracking links).

What is the journal for?

Daily life link	Attach Tracking activities (reading, prayer, meditation) to a draft entry
Verses	Bible references on the entry (after sync if created offline)

The journal does not replace a structured service note (speaker, sections, PDF). It helps you record your journey and find it again once published in the Library.

Journal vs notes — how to choose

Both follow: draft under Create → work → Publish → visible in the Library.

Anatomy of a journal entry

Entry details

Field (app label)	Role

Entry date	The day the entry is about (not only last modified)
Content	Rich text (bold, lists, etc.) — read heading: Content

Mood and tags

Mood and tags block in the editor:

Tags	Manage tags → Tags sheet (Check or uncheck below.)

Mood and tag labels come from the Scripvio reference data (shown in your language). Loading lists may need a connection: Reference data requires a connection.

Bible references

Same card title as notes: Bible references. Add, reorder, and open passage text from editor or read mode.

Context	Behavior
Still local entry (`local_…`)	Bible references will be available once the entry is synced to your account.
Synced entry	Online management (no dedicated verse offline queue like some note flows)

From Search, a verse can be added to a journal draft only (Only drafts can receive verses from search — not entries already published in the Library.).

Tracking activities (draft)

Tracking activities section: link a reading, prayer, or meditation logged in Tracking, for the entry date, if not already linked to another journal draft.

The editor (draft)

Edit entry screen:

Draft chip	Reminds you the entry is not published yet
⋮ menu	View read-only; Publish (when draft)
Favorite (star)	Works before publish too

Publish

Add a title (otherwise: Add a title before publishing.).
⋮ menu → Publish → Publish entry?
The entry will appear in the Library. Publishing closes this draft (you can create a new version later).
Confirm Publish.
Possible messages:
- Entry published.
- Publish queued (offline).

Untitled limit

Like notes, Scripvio limits empty drafts:

Create a new version? dialog: Library stays unchanged until you publish the new draft under Create.

Where to create and read (summary)

Empty Create (Journal segment): No journal entries yet. Start from the Create tab.

Empty Library: No published journal entries yet + subtitle to create and publish.

Home shortcuts

Without opening Create, Home offers:
