Mood and tags

Mood and tags structure your journal beyond plain text: they capture how you felt and what the entry is about. Both are optional, editable while the entry is a draft, and shown in read mode and lists when set.

DraftCreate → open entry → Edit entryMood and tags block
PublishedNo in-place edit in the Library: New version… → draft → mood / tags in the editor

Under Entry details, one card contains:

AreaRole
Mood cardOne mood per entry (colored icon + label)
Tags rowZero, one, or many tags (pills)

Mood card subtitle: tap to choose or change.

No mood: instead of a label. No tags: under Tags until you add some.

Each saved change triggers autosave (subtle indicator top-right of the block: spinner, check, error).

  1. In the editor, Mood and tags section.
  2. Tap the Mood card (round avatar + Mood label).
  3. The Mood sheet opens (drag handle at top).
ActionEffect
Tap a list rowMood applied; sheet closes; immediate save
Already active row✓ checkmark on the right
Clear mood (first row, clear icon)Removes mood; immediate save

Each mood shows:

  • a colored avatar (from reference data);
  • the label (e.g. gratitude, peace — translated);
  • sometimes a technical code as subtitle (small gray text).

Order follows the server catalog (internal sort_order).

Unlike tags, you cannot combine two moods—each pick replaces the previous one.

Moods load over the internet (/reference/journal-moods). Offline, the list may be empty:

Reference data requires a connection.

→ Retry on Wi‑Fi or mobile data, then reopen Mood.

  1. Tap Manage tags (right of the Tags title).
  2. The Tags sheet opens.

You may keep no tags (uncheck all, then Submit).

Same as mood: loaded via /reference/journal-tags. Empty offline → Reference data requires a connection.

Submit tags before leaving the sheetOtherwise checks are not saved
Set mood / tags before publishLibrary version is complete on first read

Are moods the same for every user?
Yes—the catalog is shared; only your choices per entry are personal.

Can I change mood after publish without a new version?
Not in the Library. Use New version…, edit the draft, then Publish.

I checked tags but they do not show.
Did you tap Submit? Without it, the sheet closes without saving.

What is the gray code under a mood?
Stable server id; the label above is what you read in the UI.

Do tags replace the title?
No. Title / theme is still required to Publish; tags classify on top.
