Links to reading, prayer, and meditation

Tracking logs your Bible reading, prayer, and meditation. The journal lets you attach reflection: a draft entry can show those activities under Tracking activities, without copying Tracking data.

What are these links for?

Goal	Example
Context	See which readings / prayers / meditations fed the journal entry
Traceability	Find the passage or prayer duration from the entry
Natural flow	Log Tracking, then write or complete the journal for the same day

The activity stays in Tracking; the journal only points to it.

Important rules

Rule	Detail
Drafts only	Only drafts can be linked.
Entry date	Only activities on the entry date are listed (not “today” if entry date is yesterday)
One activity → one draft	Already linked elsewhere → hidden (unlinked list only)
Connection	Link/unlink uses the server — Linking requires an internet connection.
Pending sync	Local activity or entry: Sync in progress — link this activity once saved online.

Three ways to link an activity

1. From the journal editor (after the fact)

Open a draft: Create → Journal → Edit entry.
Check Entry date (day of activities to link).
Scroll to Link a Tracking activity.
Tap Choose an activity to link.

Link a Tracking activity sheet:

1	Pick type: Add a reading, Add a prayer, or Add a meditation
2	List: Unlinked activities for {date}. Tap an entry to link it.
3	Tap a row → Activity linked to this journal entry.

Empty list: No unlinked activities for this date. — log the activity in Tracking for that day, or fix entry date.

2. From the Tracking form (when saving)

When adding reading, prayer, or meditation (Tracking Add… sheet), a Journal (draft) block appears:

Help: Only drafts can be linked.

Loading: Loading drafts…
No drafts: No journal drafts yet. → create one via Create → + → Journal entry.
Error: Could not load journal entries.

The link is saved with the Tracking activity (no extra step in the journal).

3. After meditation (snackbar reminder)

If you save a meditation without linking in the form, a banner may show:

Attach this meditation to a journal draft? → Choose

Tap Choose.
Sheet Choose a journal draft entry (draft list).
Tap a draft → Activity linked to this journal entry.

Offline when saving meditation: Offline: you can link this activity from a draft once synced.

Tracking activities section in the journal

When activities are linked, a Tracking activities card appears in the editor and in read mode.

Each activity is an expandable block:

Type (list title)	What you see
Bible reading	Date, references (passages), optional note
Prayer	Date, duration bucket, note
Meditation	Date, Reference (passage), reflection text

At the top of read view, numbered chips may summarize linked readings / prayers / meditations (tooltips Reading, Prayer, Meditation).

Unlink an activity (draft only)

In Edit entry (draft), expand an activity → Remove from journal.

Unlink this activity?
It will stay in Tracking but will no longer show as linked to this entry.

FAQ

Can one activity link to two drafts?
No. Only one draft per activity.

Does deleting the journal delete Tracking?
No. Remove from journal or deleting the entry does not remove the Tracking log.

Can I edit a linked activity from the journal?
Edit details in Tracking; the journal displays the link and summary.

Why doesn’t yesterday’s reading show?
The list filters on the draft’s entry date, not the device’s “today”.

Do notes have Tracking links?
Not in the current app — Suivi ↔ journal linking is for journal drafts only.
